Let's see.
1.) WBC fakes letter from Anon to try to get them to DDoS them to collect IPs to sue.
2.) Anon doesn't take the bait. (as a whole? who can tell?)
3.) The letter hits the media who in it's usual fashion doesn't do much fact checking.
4a.) The resulting wave of interest gathers enough people trying to view WBC's website to knock it offline for a bit (this is called the slashdot effect & the WBC website was down shortly after this letter was posted to Slashdot). Anon refutes the original letter
OR
4b.) WBC takes their own website down to garner sympathy from people with a hate-on for Anon. Anon refutes the original letter.
Maybe your knee jerked & you fell for it?
Frankly, I'd trust your average Anon much, much farther than I'd trust the scum of the Earth that is Fred Phelps.
