Westboro Baptist Church off to Iraq

Question
Westboro Baptist Church off to Iraq
After a challenge from an Australian comedian to pay for first class flights for the WBC to protest ISIS in Iraq they actually accepted!

It will be interesting to see what happens. I'm not sure that the Islamic State militants are that willing to accept free speech. Then again those crazy bastards might become instant friends.

With any luck they'll annihilate them.

That would be my first question. Do they even have free speech over there? Somehow I doubt it, but who knows? Maybe the WBC won't all get shot down. Unfortunately since they like taking their kids to this, that means the kids are in danger of being killed. Unless anyone thinks that would be a mercy for the poor things.

Most likely not. Even if they did would ISIS give a fuck?

Who knows, maybe the little sense they have will prevent them taking children or keep their protest in a big city that's relatively safe. Them actually getting killed would be a little barbaric for my taste but I think they should feel the fear of doing their thing where they really aren't safe.

Maybe someone will remind that that outside America there isn't always freedom of speech, and in the middle east they will stone you to death for speaking against them. Heck, any young girls they take might be kidnapped.

Hopefully they'll leave the kids at home, and stay in the safest areas possible.

These are bad people, but they are people, and some of them have come to their senses and left the church in the past. There is hope for the younger generation.

This isn't surprising at all, unless my memory is off, I remember them saying once on a talk show that they have been to Iraq before and they were fully welcomed, but I also think this was a while ago and it was while Saddam Hussain was in power.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

I imagine it very much depends on where they go. I also guess Iraq is vastly different to how it was during Saddam's reign. I guess we'll see what happens. It should be interesting regardless of how it plays out.

Should I feel bad that, for this one time only, I'm actually rooting for ISIS? Undecided

The ideal of valuing all human life equally is a hard one to accomplish, and sometimes we feel bad for wishing someone would die when we might be willing to die for different people. As social as we are, we still place different values on other people.
