I vote option 1. I think your wit serves you well in your serious stuff as much as your silly stuff. You'd just need to come up with a hook that makes you stand out from everybody else out there. Like someone else said, you've got nothing to lose! Also, you've got a ready made fan base to start with (us) which gives you an edge! I say go for it!
