I used to like Sam Harris, mostly because of is Dangerous Ideas presentations on determinism, but the more I see from him, the more I wish he'd shut the hell up. He's sexist, racist, and is a poor representative of atheists. It's not like we elected him, yet many people act like what he says, we all must believe. I don't mean you, Imean how theists often use him to misrepresent atheists.
Anyway, you are entitled to your opinion, though.
I won't take issue with your criticizing him as a poor representative for atheists, as I don't think he strives to be any sort of representative for anyone. That's what politicians are for. Sam is not a politician. He's a neuroscientist and a writer with a following of like minded people(including me), that's all. Besides, Sam has criticized the usage of the label atheist in the skeptical community before, so here's where your criticism particularly fails.
I know I'm entitled to my opinion, silly, I don't need you to tell me what I'm entitled to.
That said, I hope we can have a friendly discussion about this without getting inimical for no good reason.
