Feel the Bern

Feel the Bern
I thought that Bernie was probably not going to run this time. Turns out that I might have been wrong. The Atlantic has an article out that makes it appear that he is probably going to enter the race. Considering that we have so many candidates that have been trying to out-Sanders each other for the past couple of years, it will be good to be able to choose the genuine article. FEEL THE BERN, people!

Here's the article:

RE: Feel the Bern
Mr. Sanders self-describes as a democratic socialist.  Before my USian friends on the right go into full-blown panic mode, here's democratic socialism in a nutshell.

Sometimes (I'm tempted to say 'frequently'), it is more efficient and cost effective for a country to pool resources and use them for the common good. Some common examples of this include police and fire protection, education, public sanitation (i.e., picking up your garbage), pubic libraries and road maintenance. This is not some nefarious commie plot to control your life, confiscate your property, or redistribute wealth.  It is simply the most cost effective way for you to get value for your tax monies. And some nations have discovered that it is also a better way to make sure citizens get access to healthcare.

So, take a deep breath.  If Mr. Sanders gets elected (and it's a longish shot), your country isn't going to crumble into dust.  You'll be fine.

I like Bernie and I'm also liking Andrew Yang the more and more I learn about him.

Let's say that Mr. Sanders wins (he won't), but let's say he does (he still won't).  On Election Day 2020 he will be seventy nine years old.

If the stress of the campaign doesn't kill him, the shock of winning the election just might.

Don't worry, he's not winning.

He's only a few year older than he was the last time. Bernie is my leader, man. He's running, so I'm all in. He's the Genuine Article. I bunch of these others have been trying to out-Sanders each other for the past couple of years, but Bernie is the real deal.
