But at my age you don't start anew. Not because I wouldn't want to, but because our working environments consider people having passed 50 trash. So, I would have nothing to take with me and hardly any chance to make enough to keep me afloat or to grant me a pension. Not to speak of social security, which, if I'm not entirely mistaken, only kicks in at 65 in the USA.
Not wanting to isn't the same as can't, but I get your meaning. I retired in '89, went to Uni and got my Masters, then piddled around since then.
And SS officially starts at 65, but you can start at 62 if you want to take a hit in the funds. I figure I won't live long enough for the penalty to have a net effect, so I got some extra money for three additional year. And my wives have always worked, so we're not doing bad.
