Biblical question Min; Is "Barbabbas" a name or a title,like 'everyman'? IE Bar=Son of "Aba"=father/daddy. "Barabbas" = son of the father/daddy's boy? Or is that too obvious? I think the whole account of the trial and execution of Jesus is fanciful,including the convoluted and clumsy attempts to force Jesus to meet prophecy for the Messiah.(and failing miserably).
When it comes to some parts of the old testament, and most of the four gospels, I say there is a "mystic" tradition that has been lost, that helps people expect seasonal changes, and other natural occurances in the area the "gnosis" was originally written in. I also expect some poetry in it as well as other such whimsy..it is a "passion play" for Christs sakes (pun intended)
