You people are really self righteous douche bags, who don't know nor don't care how the real world works. That my frail and fragile little 'precious' is because you have been protected your whole life by the shield and sense of belonging/community you get from belonging to a race of people. The very thing that one takes away from their kids (When they do not favor/look like one race more strongly than the other) when they decide to marry someone of a different race. So again I ask what happens to the child when he is challenged about his race? This kid has to be super strong and secure on his own background because he is indeed completely independent/on his own. Like I said before their won't be a larger group of his particular mix coming to save him if a bunch of others of another race is beating him up. No one can stand up and point to thousands of years of pride and heritage.

So... the rest of the world you mean? or is this more of the white guilt i was talking about in the other posts? Again, what if I weren't white? What if I were American Indian looking to preserve what's left of my culture? what if in order to do that i and other of my tribe feel a need to close ranks and expel all outside influences?

Are you saying American Indians who think this way are "moron assholes just taking up your oxygen??" If so what should 'we' do with them? Or again does your philosophy only apply to white people?

What if I were a black woman who does not agree with your white grandaughter 'stealing one of our good black men?' Is she then also an asshole moron who is just breathing up all your oxygen? If so What should be done with her and people like her?

In essence what is wrong with people of any given race (especially if they are in the minority) who want to preserve their heritage, if in fact it does not include those of different races?

The Parents Have to be able to Answer ALL of the Questions and challenges like the ones I provided and many many more. And what's more they have to find a balance between those who rightfully balance honor and racial tradition like the American Indian or the Black woman I mentioned, yet help their kids find the self worth they need to survive. A Parent can not do this if all the can think about is different color 'sugar.' Or better yet looking to be offended when someone stares a 1/2 second longer than they should.

Why?

Because If you as an adult can not answer these questions then what hope does your kid have? Do you really think pouting, and posting a willie wonka youtube video will help a halvie/mixed kid fend off anyone of those people? Do you think he will be able to develop the where with all to come up with a personal philosphy that will allow him to live in a world that demands these answers, and yet some how still maintain his own self worth??? Will he be able to understand the world not only has the right to ask those questions, I will also favor or protect those who do? What does that mean for this kid, if the parents can not help him or her?

THAT My Self righteous Douche bag is what I mean by Selfish! I don't know one mixed person that I have ever spoken with who has had any preparation to deal with the demands the world will make on them. Why? Because again interracial couple seldom think of anyone other than themselves, and even then not far enough down the road to help themselves and not have their marriages self destruct let alone give their kids all they need to deal with the world they will have to live in.

Me calling interracial couples selfish is a goad or test to see how they will respond. are they mature enough to meet a challenge or will they run from it or simply lash back? To meet the challenge is to not only turn the other cheek but it is also to phrase a response that allows one to not only preserve the racial identity of the person bring the question, but to reaffirm their choice and their children racial status. This is the only type of person ready for a interracial marriage.

I even demonstrated this when in this thread I myself was in an interracial relationship when I said (I gots me a white woman). Being call selfish means nothing, when you know you are prepared to deal with the challenges you will face together. What's more if a interracial couple is not prepared to deal with all comers in a respectful way no matter how harshly they may come, then they absolutely do not need to be married/they are married for absolutely the wrong reasons, and time will indeed flush them out. Unfortunately in most cases it would seem that this will not happen before they have kids. Kids ill prepared to deal with the world to come. Which again points back to a selfish parent!

So yeah, just keep defending the right of people to not give two thoughts about the future nor the challenges their kids may face, just because it 'feels' like the right thing to do. Because no one should ever question anyone about anything anyone ever does so long as no one gets hurt... well hurt meaning (apparently) blood or broken bones.

What did I loose exactly?

I am still the product of an interracial marriage, I still have the same problems and advantages I came into this discussion with, and I've shown that your and divinity's world view to be beyond naive.

I maintain that interracial couples tend to be selfish, and if they were and were even 1/2 prepared to undertake what they have put themselves and their children through they would not give two squirts about the title 'selfish.' How do I know this? because again not only was I an interracial child, I am in an interracial relationship..

So again, what did I lose exactly? Oh, you mean I lost you. You do not fully understand what is being discussed here. that you can only view the world as being 100% 'tolerant' in your personal strictest definition of the word or you get to be intolerant and nasty as you want to be, because what i say confuses you, and it is contrary to how you think the world work even though one of your peers confirmed everything I have said here so far drawing from her own life experience.

What my words do here is draw attention to a foundational crack in a sensitive area of society that people like you think it is not right to judge, or talk about, or even discuss in a non favorable way.. and what's worse is your either too stupid or too proud to admit that their is a very real problem that supports the facade you pretend is reality. I have posted example after example of people of mixed races struggling in society, because they do not belong to one race or the other. and you simply hold to your idea of what society should be, and some how you count this as a win???
