Also I notice that my internet connection is 200 KBs faster than it was under the old system. My provider's the same, as is the hardware. Living in a rural area with crappy connections and only one provider to choose from, 200 KBs seem like the world to me.
All temperatures, or just CPU? I can believe the CPU would be cooler, as a newer Windows might make better use of your GFX card.
As for internet speed-- I've had a tech guy here who gets 450Mb/s on my internet connection, where I usually only get 200-300 (and I use Windows 7)-- so it's very possible that Windows is prioritizing things in a way that limit blistering speeds. Run ookla speed test, and the number you get is pretty much what you're running.
