Look, if the Church means the Catholic institution headed by the pope, there as as many inconsistencies and shortcoming to turn away a non-Christian as the book itself. Part of it is the logical inconsistency of positions over the years, and part of it is the very real evil that is done by, and protected by, the church today. If this is the best institution that God can offer mankind, then what a weak God He is, indeed.
