Atheist government's like Sweden still have rules they have to follow, as Mr. Hanky said "I don't like your tone, and I don't have to answer your questions. You've been here much too long not to have learned the difference between atheism and the sort of runaway idealism which leads to violent dictators. Kim Jong Ill isn't an atheist, he is a self-declared god, and he knows it." Kim Jong Ill is a complete dictator in the classic text book fashion. There are only a few countries who enforce State Atheism. Others just buffer out the religious crap from there governments and public schools. America is one of the biggest melting pot for religious fights on who's rights are being infringed upon. Other countries like Sweden or Denmark have solved this problem why can't we? If we stopped granting religious institutions special rights. Taxes being a big factor here, if I wanted to open a building for Atheists in the city were I live to meet every Friday to talk about our lack of believe and collect money I would denied a tax exemption. Why does a church get away with doing the exact same thing? They do the exact same thing my Atheist gathering would do. I'm not sure which countries do not provide tax exemptions laws in place for religious groups, there has a be a hand full who do not provide those kind of protections.
Feel free to practice your own believes preach, rally, hold weekly meetings, and further destroy science. Just keep it out of the government and the schools, and pay for it out of your own damn pocket! Save the tax exemptions for groups that really need it. I'm sure all that money that could of been collected would of opened up a lot of homeless shelters, had more affordable housing plots. oh and wait I'm sure that the schools could of been greatly improved as well. But, wait Father Peterson has a right to preach in a donated building and does not have to pay taxes on the land. Can anyone else think of a another group that uses this to cheat out of paying taxes? I'll give you a hint, Tom Cruise. I agree with you on Russian Orthodox church, they have way to much control. It's the 21st century and a major world power still does not allow gay marriage. That's 19th century thinking.
