Is Christianity responsible for anti gay bigotry?

I am honestly not knowledgeable in other religions to answer a definite yes or no. What's it say in the Quran?

It would seem, for the most part, however, that christians are a huge group against it. So, from a layman's POV, I would say that christians continue to be a catalyst in the war against gay marriage, or gays in general.

Christianity simply identifies it as a sin, just like any other and requires repentance from it.
In essence Christianity has the least serious response to Homosexuality out of those who see it as a sin.

"Least serious"? Leviticus says to kill them. Seems pretty serious to me.
