Indeed, part of internal peace for me is accepting my place in life. Every atom in my body heavier than lithium came from the detritus of an exploding star, filtered through the food I have consumed. The only immortality that has meaning is to go on feeding life, such as it might arise, by surrendering those atoms back into the cycle.
The organization of atoms that the world thinks of as me is simply a passing phase, and subject ot every law to which every other atom is subject. I am not special.
