Actually, though, Rik, until we have more concrete proof that any such entity exists, wasting time speculating about something impossible to prove is just worthless fantasy. It's a waste of time and effort.
It is interesting to see how you talk about speculation.
Isn't this thread all about speculations?
The OP is 100% speculation but to you speculation is only when somebody else challenge that speculation.
Time to look yourself in the mirror and realize the hypocrisy.
Sure. This thread started out describing the mind-boggling size of our little itty bitty solar system. Which is not speculation, it's mathematical fact. The vastness of the universe makes every religion ever created on this planet seem utterly absurd to me and many others. Once you waste even a second wondering whether a deity exists or does not exist, yes that is speculation.
Of course, the moment I choose to assert that I find the possibility of a deity unlikely, and I relegate it to the category of leprechauns and unicorns, somebody who is certain that their imaginary friend is real gets in my face and tries to demand that I change my mind. It's time to get out of my face now. If your deity wants me to believe, have him tell me himself. I won't accept anything from you.
