I can't begin to imagine what we could do as a species if we could simply transcend the primates we evolved from.    

1) Punt all religion to the curb.  
2) Control our population.   
3) Embrace intellectualism and the sciences.
4) Treat our planet/environment with respect.  
    
I don't have much faith though.  Our future is Mad Max, not Star Trek.
