As for Adam falling to Eve's urging, don't you think God blamed Adam for listening to her, that's the way I see it. As for Eve she was told by Adam what God had commanded, she believed Satan over her husband, so God gave her a desire to obey him, and then God set up the way a family was to be lived, with the man at the head of it. None of this was punishment though most see it that way. Eve's punishment was pain in child birth and Adam's was to work by the sweat of his brow, and because the brought sin into humanity we all suffer the same things, even the death they were promised if they disobeyed. As for man's response to how God punished them they took it upon themselves to misinterpret what God said to control women, this was never God's intent.
