I've always loved horror movies, but it's been a long time since I've been genuinely scared. I keep hoping to find that movie that will really freak me out, but I think I've become too desensitized, nothing really does it for me anymore.
Japanese horror movies are pretty decent at being creepy and making you shiver. One movie that I found quite disturbing and disgusting (but not necessarily scary) was called 'Seed,' with footage of animal torture, dying and decomposing people, and a 15-minute long murder scene involving a hammer. There's another movie called 'The Martyrs' that I've wanted to see, but I've heard it's especially disturbing so I don't know about that one yet...
These days, I prefer suspense and psychological thrillers, movies that keep you guessing and actually make you think. Or really bad horror movies that make you laugh. Watching bodies being hacked apart by psychopathic slashers is just so old and overdone these days that it's pointless.
