How "reincarnation" might work?

So, note it is reincarnation in inverted commas. It's like reincarnation but it isn't literal reincarnation. I'm aware reincarnation implies a supernatural element and while this idea is similar in that you get multiple lives it doesn't have any supernatural element. I probably should have titled it "how rebirth might work" or something.

As for "so what" well... you get an afterlife.
