Education and discussion is the answer.
Christianity and Islam do not share professed truths or goals, but they are very similar in the ecological niches they inhabit.
They purport to explain common unknowns and solve common societal problems.
They sacrifice their members for the perpetuation and expansion of themselves.
They do not constitute a means of exploring truth (= accurately predicting the future) as revealed by the universe around us.
Once this is recognized rather than the purported (made up) truths which are the dogmas of the various religions, religions become much less tempting and should wither at least among the educated.
They still will be a good way of forming gangs among the stupid.
