Education and discussion is the answer.
Christianity and Islam do not share professed truths or goals, but they are very similar in the ecological niches they inhabit.
They purport to explain common unknowns and solve common societal problems.
They sacrifice their members for the perpetuation and expansion of themselves.
They do not constitute a means of exploring truth (= accurately predicting the future) as revealed by the universe around us.
Once this is recognized rather than the purported (made up) truths which are the dogmas of the various religions, religions become much less tempting and should wither at least among the educated.
They still will be a good way of forming gangs among the stupid.
Education per se is not the answer. The reason is the concept of education is malleable, and easily cooped to serve religious purposes. This is why there are "scholars" of Koran who feel free to speak didactically about all sorts of things other than technical history of that document, and there are "doctors" of "theology" in the west. There is even a make believe field called "christology" which form some parts of some process also unblushingly called "education" even in the most enlightened parts of the west.
What you have in mind is to impose upon them an education molded to your liking. That is different from saying access to any education that can be made available to them will do the trick.
