Granting Patafarianism religious status does Pastafarianism a disservice. It is clearly a parody of religion. Granting it religious status just puts it on the shelf with all the other ridiculous shit it was created to expose.
Agreed. Granting it religious status might make people think its followers are serious.... and then Pastafarianism will be flooded by people who actually want to believe/practice it as a serious faith
