Keeping the husband happy is in the best interest of the wife, I believe. If for some reason hubby starts getting uneasy at work and generally displeased with how things are going, he may quit his job or get into gambling habits. Which means the woman will have to go work and bring home money, which is draining for her and not worth the hassle so she prefers to keep her man happy so that she and the whole family can be happy. : ')

Also, why do you assume going to work is draining for anyone? Who are you to assign that? How are you to know what anyone prefers, no matter what their gender?
