If we're looking for "evidence", then that's a scientific issue: we'll probably have to wait a thousand years and assume that in these years the scientists would be able to create a portal to the other realm, provided that it exists, or somehow get to prove that the other realm does not exist. Likewise, we'll have to wait perhaps a thousand years and assume that in these years the scientists would be able to prove the existence or non-existence of the person beyond biology.
I think this is not a theistic issue, but a scientific issue (i.e. even theists need the science to be able to give the "evidence").
