Same God just called by different names over the course of a couple successive civilizations and millennium. The use of Elohim predates the usage of Yahweh. I believe its widespread usage ended by the close of the Bronze Age with the extinction of Ugartic, but may have had a little carryover usage with the Hebrews. By the time of the Babylonian Captivity and the compilation of the Judite Bible (as opposed to the Israelite and Samaritan versions), the Hebrew language had evolved to use new words to describe God and these were interwoven into the narrative. This is of course using the Wellhausen hypothesis I learned from Eric Cline.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.
