That is a consideration, yeah. How "real" is this life anyway? We have no way of knowing. I have resigned myself to defining "realness" in relative terms only.
Come to think of it, I'd actually take a kind of compromise. I would want to know it's not real for the "hub" of my operations in this new life, but then I can design and inject myself into scenarios of my choosing within the VR, so that it feels real. This gives me god like powers over my own life and happiness, and guards against any kind of boredom. I can of course remove my own memories to relive scenarios as if for the first time too.
Some of the scenarios would be very sexual. You didn't need to know that.
