Choseing to be a part of the silent majority
#73
RE: Choseing to be a part of the silent majority
Yup. They would be excellent choices. But they're not on the ticket.

I'm voting blue because I'm voting for 3, maybe 4 Supreme Court nominees. If/when Bernie is out, then the only positive that can come from a Clinton presidency is that we will likely have a majority liberal/moderate SCOTUS. With all of these RFRA laws being challenged, the endless onslaught of Obamacare challenges, these transgender discrimination laws that are being challenged, the laws limiting equal protection for LGBTQ+ individuals being challenged, we just saw what the GOP is doing in Texas/Oklahoma---all of those laws will be challenged.

Those are my fucking principles. I won't be a squalling child throwing a tantrum because I didn't get my way. I will vote to do everything I can to protect the social progress we have made in the last 10 years. The LGBTQ+ community deserves nothing less.

For those naive enough to think that just because Trump is making all these wild promises that he won't even nominate one hyper-conservative SC Justice, you are just dumping your head in the sand.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
