Not really. You can't mistake the movies for reality. In the movies trained men-at-arms never seem to know what to do with their weapons while shit-kicking farmers are ninjas with pitchforks.
This is the legacy of Rambo movies. Too many people think the bad guys always miss.
No... i just suggest that after long enough the soldiers get tired. The numbers are of course not realistic
Luckily, guns are a lot more deadly than pitchforks

In other words, it was a strawman?

Also by "standing up to the government", do you mean by like how the Egyptians did with theirs?
I have no idea what 'news' goes on over in that area. A few (successful) revolts that somehow accomplish next to nothing? Nothing new.
Peasants supposedly differ from citizens (arguments like wage slaves don't exist, heh) depending on who you talk to. Luckily guns are more likely to be fatal than a charging pitchfork Here the soldiers are citizens.

You yell "charge!", I'll yell "good luck!".
You forget that if *I* am yelling charge: victory is certain. If it's someone else, there's a possibility of it being otherwise... but I don't typically yell charge. And when I do, you better bet you should charge.

Granted, our "prisons" are good enough that many would like to move there.
