I think it was just a fool who, backed into a corner and without anything substantive to say, blurted something stupid in - as Dorfl put it - an attempt at cleverness.

I couldn't agree more, but nothing annoys me more than someone calling someone else racist when they actually aren't. I respect Constable and can understand how that post in question was probably offensive, but isn't racist.

Racist remains a strong word in my vocabulary, if no one else's. That comment isn't racist, it's stupid, so pathetically stupid that no one should even be offended by it.
