The idea of a wall is stupid because of how expensive it would be. But in principle, as much as I dislike Trump, I see nothing wrong with keeping people from coming into the US illegally.
People from neighboring countries and from all over the world are welcome to move here, but they should do so legally, like everywhere else in the world.
My immediate family and I migrated here from South America when I was 7 years old. A few years later, a big chunk of my extended family from my dad's side moved here as well, also from South America. We all did it legally. There's no reason why the law shouldn't apply to some people.
When the law is designed to discriminate, there are going to be compliance problems. US immigration law is designed to keep out Mexicans by having a quota system that ensures that the vast majority of Mexicans who would like to and are otherwise able to immigrate here will never have a chance to do so legally. They are our neighbors but the number of immigrants we allow from Mexico is the same as what we allow from Finland or Argentina. If Congress wasn't worried about too many brown people getting in, Mexico would have a significantly higher allowance of immigrants than the rest of the world, by virtue of being our neighbors; but illegal immigrants from across our southern border play an important economic role that they might not be able to fill if they were here legally.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
