Bernie Sanders to sponsor single-payer health bill

Bernie Sanders is returning to a key campaign promise and will introduce a single-payer healthcare bill in the wake of the Republicans' Obamacare replacement defeat.
The Vermont senator said Sunday that he was willing to work with both Democrats and Republicans to provide "insurance for all," two days after the GOP leadership's American Health Care Act was pulled from the House floor to avoid a legislative defeat. Sanders' support for a single-payer system was a centerpiece of his unsuccessful run for the Democratic presidential nomination.
"Where we should be going is to join the rest of the industrialized world and guarantee healthcare to all people as a right," he said on CNN's "State of the Union."

Trump Keeps Ripping Republicans as Priebus Says It’s Time to Move On

Trump wasn’t sanguine about the loss. He was red hot. Trump reportedly pushed for the vote to happen on Friday afternoon to publicly humiliate disloyal Republicans on live television. (Trump backed down and the bill was pulled instead.) Nevertheless, his chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon told him Trump “keep a shit list” of Republicans who fought him.

Politics can be fun.  With any luck the WLB has a heart attack.

Even though this won't get passed, its important it gets lots of analysis, especially if the CBO of similar organizations give it a thumbs up. Why? Trump has said that he'll wait for Obamacare to explode and then the Democrats will come running to him for a solution.

If that time comes, the Democrats can point to this bill and tell Trump to his face that they offered him a solution early on and he ignored it.

Yes...

President Donald Trump had promised "insurance for everybody" as the Republicans drafted plans to replace the Affordable Care Act, but the legislative result fell far short of that goal. Congressional Budget Office analyses forecast some 24 million people losing insurance and premiums rising on older citizens of average means while the wealthiest healthcare recipients would receive a tax break.

Too bad the asshole hasn't a clue how to do it.

Eventually, and I don't expect to live long enough to see it, there will be Medicare for all which will not only solve the problem of people being uninsured but it will go a long way to solving the actuarial problems of Medicare itself by giving it a vastly expanded pool of younger and healthier people paying into it.  Of course, that will mean fucking up the insurance companies and their criminal owners but hey, you can't have everything.

I say let's push it about sixty times, even though it's almost certainly not going to go through. See how the repubs like it, except we're fighting to implement something good, instead of repeal something good.

As long as Bernie pantses Ryan on a better CBO score for his plan, then full power to him.

Single payer often is cheaper for the whole country. If he can beat Ryan at his own metrics game, then you know his example will inspire others.

The GOP is held together by duct tape and baling wire - a little push here and there can shake things up.
