Skyrim upgrade. . . did they upgrade it so everything in the world doesn't pointlessly level with your character, completely ruining the game?

You know you can up or down the game difficulty, even in the middle of a battle?

I know the auto levelling of opponents can be a pain in the arse, but there are benefits.

I had a high level character - 60 + - clearing out an old tomb which was literally filled with druagr death lords and death overlords.  Got my arse handed to me several times, but my skills went up pretty quick fighting them and I was quickly overloaded with ebony weapons.
