And he wrote a letter to a particular slave owner urging him to free the slave he had. Had he ordered Christians to capture people and enslave them, then you may have something there.(June 23, 2016 at 8:15 am)Disciple Wrote: Nope, I sure wouldn't. It appears as if you would I assume? When I replied, I was hoping we were going to discuss the actual issue but, we can go to the ancient events you don't believe ever happened. I was aware of the old testament before I made it to the atheist fourm. Although I have indeed noticed it is among the favorite subjects of biblical discussion here. All new testament Christians I have ever been around have no dealings with the OT. Christians deal with the teachings of Christ, and the new covenant. The OT was written for the Jews who at the time, were being established as Gods people and who were expecting a messiah. Even the 10 commandments at the time, weren't meant for the whole world to follow, just the Jews, who still follow only OT scripture. And don't catch a fraction of the heat Christians catch on here I might add. And before you bring up that part where Jesus said he came to fufill the law, all that means is it was satisfied. Like if you fufill your contract with somebody, your no longer under the contract.
So you have no dealings with the barbarism of the OT. Yet you accept the NT which is based entirely on human sacrifice.
