In the meantime, I'm convinced that untangling webs of misconception regarding guns, gun crime, gun deaths, and gun legislation is the only way to get two obviously disparate groups to reach some sort of mutual understanding, which...imo, is required as a basis for any sound gun policy or policy reform which we -clearly- need. The odds of success when one group thinks the other is out to set up a fascist state...and one is sure that the other are kid hating sociopaths... is slim to nil.
