Actually, the Quran is mainly evolving around two major points:
1-Sever punishment after judgement
2-Eternal mercy and salvation after judgement
Well, it's that simple. It's a day that comes after we die; we wake up in shock thinking that our lives were a matter of days compared to this one day; then we shall see hell, to it the losers will get thrown; while the winners will survive in paradise.
To disprove Islam, you need to wipe out every negative action in life, that brings sadness and sorrow. People believe in so many cases, because of the pain they see. When you see children in Africa dying from hunger, and on the contrary see obese Americans feasting on fast food, see humans waste wealth on sex and warfare instead of feeding others, well, one re-thinks hell and indeed re-thinks Islam's concepts.
Oh well, it's God the merciful, and at the same time the severe in punishment, it's the perfect balance. People think God is a bedwin Sultan, others believe he's a feminist lady, others accuse him of being Buddha, while in reality, his vision gets us but ours can't get him; he is the creator, he is not what humans think, and that stereotypical idea about Islam (which Sunni and Shiite Muslims contributed so so much to), is wrong.
Look at the universe.
Read the Quran, and look at your house cat when it says in your face "Meaaaaao" !
Look at baby dears
Look at the sun, the moon
