I know two possibilities.

1.He is really became Muslim.

2.This is a false conversion (personal interest but which ?).

3.I would like to say that. Say the "attestation of faith" or "Shahada" (Arabic : شهادة).

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ الله (English : There is no god but God, Muhammad is the messenger of God). Don't make you a Muslim (Arabic : مسلم) (Litteraly مسلم signify that the person is submits to God. Other translation : One who is submits to God , Person who is submits to God). if you don't believe to the Shahada.
