You could take that position and apply it to pretty much every single difference of opinion any people will have.
With the tiny difference that most other such situations don't have a side that is demonstrably on the side of reason and objectivity. This is over-simplifying things and using the word atheist as an umbrella term, of course, but I think you get my point.
