Linux Mint is the easiest installing distro I've ever used. I will never use Ubuntu again.
You can make it look just like Windows, or even OSx, or pretty much anything. It's super easy to use, and if you don't use the laptop for gaming I would recommend trying to get windows 10 going, and if you don't like it, go with linux mint.
The only thing that takes a bit getting used to is how much you have to enter in your password!
