Just notice this .... forgive title please, 'faith' is not my words .... and I said atheism to make the title concise ...

People with no religious affiliation now make up the third-largest global group in a new study of the world's faiths - coming after Christians and Muslims but just before Hindus.

Hopefully, for the sake of humanity/science/reason/empathy/etc/etc we will soon be the largest global group 

Of course the category having no religious affiliation, includes "theists having no religious affiliation", as well as atheists.

But I agree with your sentiments, madog. When reason rules, then we have a better chance to get reasonable solutions in this world ! ! !
