yeah...the default text editor on this version of the forum's software is a bit buggy.
You should go in your User Control Panel, "edit options" (from the list on the left) and on the bottom right you'll find an option that says "Put the editor in source mode by default". Tick that box.
This only works if you're in the desktop theme...not in the mobile theme.
