Yes I read it. And I wasn't explicitly replying to you but rather putting into context what he really said. You only were the one bringing up his excuse and that's why I quoted you. His reply to the accusations is a rather weak attempt at wiggling out from the stone he's under.

You still can't prosecute someone for an interpretation of what he said, that he denies. I believe he was joking about second amendment people shooting Hillary Clinton, that's what it sounded like to me. But if 'That's what it sounded like to me' becomes a reason to throw people in jail, I will do everything in my power to fight for freedom of speech.
