Usually the apologists claim that his body hung there for several days and got bloated, then somehow the rope broke and his body fell down, and being bloated burst open.
Although, from working in law enforcement, usually when someone hangs themselves and aren't found for a few days, the rope will stretch rather than break.
But again, it's amazing all the mental hoops they make themselves jump through in order to keep believing.
