My laptop dies occasionally. I has a blue fit and stops communicating. Later it comes back to life and offers a report of its experience to its transcendent creator.

One day it will be permanently dead. Incapable of receiving input or producing output.

It will add to the pile of techno-junk in Guangdong Province to wait and decompose.

The parts will be recycled and the process will pollute the lungs of children as they burn the wires to expose copper, melt circuit boards in pots to extract lead or dunk the boards in acid to remove the gold.

But what of the operating system and the apps?

Where do the soldiers go after their Call of Duty has ended?
