I'm not a prude but I am serially monogamous. I don't think my sex life is the business of any government or church and think both institutions should STFU about it. If some god disapproves of my sex life, he can damned well tell me himself, without the intermediaries.
Actually, some precautions are very effective at preventing pregnancy. You can dismiss them out of hand if you wish, but that doesn't mean they don't exist, it means their existence makes you uncomfortable enough to enter denial.
