Must be surprising, coming into an atheist forum page, and discovering that people here don't like religion. Shocking!
As for malice and anger. . . wouldn't it bother you if you went into work and people were talking about the tooth fairy like it was a real thing that mattered? If they knocked on your door Saturday morning to ask if you believed in the tooth fairy, and wanted to come in and read literature about the tooth fairy, and tsk tsked disapprovingly whenever they encountered someone who DIDN'T believe in the tooth fairy-- wouldn't decades of that eventually piss you off, too?
See, you are still stuck in your cultural fairy tale of choice, so you can't get it. You think you've had thread after thread of meaningful debate here. But from the perspective of most of the atheists here, what you've really been doing is attempting to seriously argue, page after predictable page, that the tooth fairy is real.
If you can understand this, then you'll understand the mindset: to non-Christians, you are an adult who not only checks under the bed for monsters every night, but sincerely believes that everyone else should too. To debate with that tries the patience of any rational person. I'm no more prejudiced against you than I am against my own kid, who also wants me to check under the bed sometimes. The difference is, I know he'll grow out of it by the time he's 7, and so for him, I have patience.
