My husband hates me, I can take 2 weeks (or longer!) to eat a single candy bar. Take one bite every few days, savor, wrap remaining candy for next time a sweet craving hits. I have to hide what little candy I eat because he cannot stand it not being eaten, lol.
I switch between that and scoffing the lot in one sitting (usually to later regret) depending on my mood (and the type of sweets... some are just annoyingly irresistible ). I don't do middle grounds very well... as you've seen in mafia But I wish I could do the former method all the time because I do notice its benefits; a binge just lengthens an existing feeling (to its inevitable stomach ache ) without anything added and you can in fact become less mindful of it as time wears on, just eating by habit, thus reducing the quality of the experience, whereas the other way means you get many short, sharp hits of 'ooh I fancy one of them... ooh that's lovely'... the build up, the taste, and no reduction in taste due to habituation So if you think in the currency of pleasant experiences and the quality thereof, you get much more for your money if you make it last
