Young earth creationism is a special kind of stupid. Like, it's the gold medal performance at the Stupid Olympics. The gall to simply ignore geology, paleontology, astronomy... it's pretty amazing.
Run of the mill creationism gets special marks for its insidiousness, however. That its proponents have even convinced people that there's a controversy is astounding. But, Wizard's 1st Rule (which is likely the only thing I agree with Goodkind on).
