That's an analogy.
A metaphor is being used when a word or phrase is cleverly employed to describe something semantically disconnected from it by drawing attention to those of its characteristics that make it relevant to the thing being described. . The sky within your eyes is boundless and haunting would be an example.
The metaphor contains an implicit comparison between two things - it hides the "right" one and it transposes the sham over it. An analogy does the comparison explicitly, by pointing out both things being compared for the purpose of better clarifying the properties of one. Where metaphors are aesthetic and subtle, analogies are plain and informative.
