Right after the revolution of '89 I went to Romania with a Red Cross support team, while the situation was far from stable. Didn't cost me a dime. Only the opportunity to be away for a week.
There's a difference between denigrating most people, including me, and admiring others for actually going the extra mile. Beccs or Valkyrie how she calls herself now, is obviously well off in the job she's doing. The majority of people in her situation can't be bothered to help out in an Ebola epidemic or other infested regions on the butt end of the world.
So, I admire her for that and give her my thanks. That however doesn't mean I look down on other, since I am part of the others.
