Another point is the one often mentioned is suffering. Either god cannot stop the suffering, meaning he is not all powerful, or it is part of some "master plan", which to me means he is a very uncaring being.
I'm sorry, I'm not very good at explaining myself about things like this.
That makes perfect sense to me. I agree that it is probably the reason a lot if not most of religions have started. That and trying to make money of of naive victims.
Some religions start out trying to reach some sort of enlightenment, trying to make a person as best as it can be and learning as much of themselves as they can.
