Ben Wallace\s piece in the NY Times titled "Who Believed in Trump, and Who is to Blame? Wrote:This does not seem to be only a political event. Trump never should have gotten close. That so many Americans who are struggling with money picked Trump must mean that our version of capitalism could use some further adjustments. That so many Americans in places where the economy is on the rise also chose Trump raises the possibility that our leaders promise too much, that we expect that more is possible than really is. That such a proudly amoral and publicly hateful man could become the choice of large majorities of observant Christians suggests some weakness in our religious life and our expressions of morality. That he did not lose more support after his racism and misogyny became well-known suggests how commonplace these resentments must be, between husbands and wives and between neighbors. There was not enough individual decency to make plain Trump’s indecency. We are not so good a people as we thought.

Quote:So who do you blame? The DNC? Hillary? There is no blame. Are you supprized and are asking what happened?
In short the majority of voting Americans said we are tried of the way things are going. We want something completely different (and not just change in skin tone for the POTUS) but real change that affects how this nation is governed. The Fact that the media was not accuratly reporting or had no idea of what the MAJORITY of America wanted means they are no longer actually reporting the news but spinning narritive to support an agenda.
It's real simple if you report the news you simply relay what is going on. from that you can document and show a history and plot where this country is going and maybe even predict big decisions.
This is not what happened. The news media was trying to change the hearts and minds of people. those who voted clinton we so changed. However there is a large segiment of the populations who saw through the efforts of the mainstream media because they knew the media was not reporting the complete truth.
Quote:My first inclination is to blame the education system. What does reading writing or arithmetic have to do with voting what you think is right? Unless you mean indoctrination (being told what is right and wrong) when you say education.
Quote:How could people not see the false promise of a strong man saying "only I can do it, trust me and don't worry about the details?"Again, your thoughts here... They reflect the spun media narrative I was talking about. Look at their websites while they are still up. Clinton has 4 talking points on her website.
1) what makes her socially 'moral.'
2) the 153 thing Donald Trump says that makes Him immoral/unqualified.
3) her resume/what she has done in her career
4) letters from republicans that can't vote for trump.
That's it!!! All the things you think is true about trump not having direction... Is actually true about clinton.
Now contrast to Trump's official site. He has a comprehensive list of Everything he wants to accomplish and in some detail briefly explains how things will work.
Clinton's efforts centered around the morality of her candidate, and trump while pointing to his version of the reasons his opponent is not a good choice for office, steadily harped on his plan for the country. Clinton did not do this with any detail why? because she did not want to make promises she was going to later break. She wrongly fully thought that the majority of the nation bought into 'pop morality' (the version of morality that you good people share where 'locker room talk' is worse than selling out the state department for personal gain.) So she became the pop morality Prophet/canidate.
The thing is, the majority of America is not looking for a 'moral leader' but a political leader who is truly different than the rest.
Quote: Even more than that, there are a lot of people not doing well economically and rolling the dice on change probably beats betting on slow, incremental improvement to them.
Then wouldn't 15.00 per hour min wage solve all their problems?
Again you mind has been warped by the narritive and not the truth.
The truth is People see the destruction of US industry, and how that obliterates places like flint or detroit or the steel manufacturing just all of what made the US a super power. It is all being sold out to places like china. Those who have not been indoctrinated to see the destruction of the industrial base of this country as a good thing, can not and will not be fooled into putting any more corrupt people in office who's only real concern is their presidential legacy and lining their own pockets.
What people like Clinton do not understand is 'we' love the idea of a country to be proud of. If it were just about the money then a sanders or clinton will always trump, a trump. It's about the life blood of the nation not about the individual. but about supporting the industrial base that made America what it was. There are still enough people left to stand up and oppose the systematic destruction of this country in order to force it into a one world economy to save itself from destruction.
Quote:Or maybe human nature is simply tragic? This wrongly assumes all human nature is the same.
Quote:Why do we look for a savior anyway? You had 8 years of your 'savior' what was clinton going to save you from obama?
Quote: The trouble with looking for someone better than yourself to rescue you is it still depends on you to recognize the right one. This wrongly assumes all are to be 'saved.'
I truly think in the next 8 years kicking and screaming you will find yourself in a better place a better country than where you are now.
